Suppression Systems

IFC can assist with all aspects of the design, specification and ongoing inspection of residential and commercial suppression systems, providing peace of mind that occupants’ lives and your buildings are adequately protected.

SUPPRESSION SYSTEM DESIGN

Suitable for almost all types of building regardless of complexity or age; from Industrial plants and off-shore facilities to urban residential blocks or heritage sites; automatic suppression systems are increasing seen as an essential element for both life and property protection.
Should a fire be detected, suppression systems will immediately seek to play an active role in trying to extinguish or control the fire, to allow time for the safe evacuation of the building.
If practical to do so, by incorporating sprinklers into the building, the necessities on passive measures can be alleviated, reducing the impact on the fabric of a buildings design, such as the number of escape routes needed with increased travel distances.

IFC have the unique capability and experience to offer bespoke suppression designs services and comprehensive inspections to ensure your existing system will perform properly if a fire breaks out, providing peace of mind and should the case arise, a robust legal stand point.

Our extensive knowledge of the latest standards such as BS EN 12845 & BS 8489 and the practical applications of all residential and commercial fire suppression systems means we can help you identify and solve any potential risks that may arise during the life of the building.

SYSTEM INSPECTIONS

Ill-fitted, inappropriate or deteriorating products and systems can have detrimental effect on any buildings risk profile; this can be extended to room, area or building change. See Fire Risk Management for further information.

Inspections and ongoing maintenance are an important part of the successful prevention and protection of buildings whether they are a new

build out of warranty or historic; but how often are these systems inspected correctly?

IFC’s engineers are regularly called upon to inspect and review all types of Life Safety suppression systems in-situ for any building type.
