A graduate career with IFC!
Each year IFC enrol Graduates with transferable disciplines onto our Graduate Training Scheme. The Scheme is an 18 month rolling programme that incorporates both on the job training and additional skilled based learning.
Throughout the duration of the scheme Graduates will work across our varied departments to provide full understanding and extensive experience of the fire engineering industry.
All Graduates who successfully complete the programme are offered a secure position within one of the departments and with support of the company are given the opportunity to progress their academic skills further.
What do some of our recent graduates think?
“During the first few weeks of my employment at the IFC Group, I was immediately made to feel welcome in the office and after just four months I have really settled in and already feel part of the team, both within the Product Department and in the company as a whole.
During my introductory period I learnt a lot of new practical information about the fire safety almost on a daily basis and I know that if I run into any issues, see a gap in my knowledge or have any concerns there are countless people surrounding me who are happy and willing to take the time to sit down and outline a solution with me.
The people at IFC are fast becoming a second family and I consider this a great place to be taking on my first graduate role. I’m really looking forward to expanding my understanding of the industry and progressing my career with IFC Group.”
“In the short space of time I have been part of the IFC Graduate program, I have helped to draft reports for some very well-known and pretty prestigious clients. As well as finding myself as part of a team at the forefront of some major renovations and new build developments in the UK; including the instantly recognisable heritage buildings Royal Albert Hall and Trinity College, Oxford.
The seemingly ever-growing workforce is expanding rapidly, giving me the chance to learn from the very best. The IFC engineers have a depth and breath of experience and knowledge that is outstanding, and they are happy and willing to pass this on; so I’m finding I’m able to act like a sponge and absorb as much technical information and glean as much advice as I can, by working alongside and sharing their experiences.
I feel very fortunate to say I have already gained a lot of first-hand experience and it’s great to be given the confidence to contribute to the writing of technical notes and fire safety strategies.
I honestly feel that the graduate program at IFC (whilst sometimes quite an overwhelming prospect) is providing me with the opportunity of a lifetime…. to have a successful Fire Engineering career in an exciting, fast-paced, and evolving industry, is one that I’m relishing.”
“The biggest thing that stands out for me about coming to work at IFC is the people. The people here make it a brilliant place to work, especially for a new graduate like me!
I’m given the support and training that I need in a friendly environment working with folks who’ve been where I am now and are more than willing to share their experience with a newcomer to the trade, and I’m also encouraged to push myself and take on new challenges without fear.”
